October 9, 2010 - World Music Festival- Free Admission
An eclectic gathering of musicians performing musical styles from around the world.
10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Performers include-
Valerie Dee Naranjo and her group Mandara is a quintet of multi-instrumentalists/vocalists that performs music of West and southern Africa.
Dawn Avery a world-class, award winning Mohawk artist will perform songs from the new CD Behind the Mask. Featuring Grammy award winning producer, Larry Mitchell, on guitar and Steven Alvarez, voice and percussion.
Medicine Dream - an Intertribal First Nations band that performs contemporary Native American music.
The event will include Alaska Native dancers and drummers, village site tours, demonstrating artists, art activities for kids and more. It is a fun family friendly event.
