The Alaska Native Heritage Center presents an exciting offering of cultural programming all year long. Mark your calendars and plan to attend!

March 4, 2017 - Iditarod Day - 11am-5pm FREE Admission!


Join us in celebrating the Alaska Native spirit of the Iditarod with the Alaska Native Heritage Center’s 2017 Iditarod Day on March 4, 2017 from 11am-5pm. 
The Gathering Place performances include Imamsuat, the King Island Singers and Dancers of Anchorage, Fireweed Dancers, Lepquinm Gumilgit Gagoadim Ts’msyen Dancers, and the Alaska Native Heritage Center dancers. Demonstrations such as the Alaska Native games, traditional storytelling, and an introduction to Alaska Native cultures will be ongoing throughout the day as well. 
Village site tours on the hour from 11am-4pm, demonstrating Alaska Native artists in the Hall of Cultures, and short films and documentaries featured in the theatre. Come and watch the showcasing of “Spirit of the Wind” in dedication to the late George Attla Sr.
